St. Mary's University Director of Gift and Estate Planning
Requirements:
The Director of Gift and Estate Planning should have extensive planned gift fundraising experience with a proven record of achievement; excellent communications skills; be a collegial and collaborative colleague; have experience in managing budgets and handling confidential information; possess strong research skills; have high ethical standards; and be comfortable using technology to support fundraising efforts. Responsibilities:
The Director of Gift and Estate Planning is responsible for the overall administration and programming activities for planned gifts at the University and will have responsibility for the identification, cultivation and stewardship of a portfolio of donors. The Director will develop communications initiatives to promote information about gift and estate planning as an integral part of the capital campaign; will be expected to manage the estate planning budget; provide regular reports on gift and estate planning opportunities to the university’s constituents; track gifts and proposals; be responsible for staff training, and coordinate gift and estate planning seminars.

The position will report to the Executive Director of Development.

University of South Carolina: Senior Director of Development, Moore School
Requirements:
The Senior Director of Development-Moore School of Business is a senior member of the University Development team. Reporting to the Executive Director for University Development, he/she will be responsible for the management and coordination of fundraising activities of the Moore School of Business and supervises the School's Director(s) of Development. Additionally the Senior Director of Development will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.
As the University enters a significant campaign, the Senior Director of Development will work with the Executive Director for University Development to coordinate all fundraising activity and capital campaign programs for the school. The Senior Director of Development will not only be a manager, but a coach to his/her staff.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Director of Development will also:
• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.
• Plan, develop and implement major gift fundraising for the Moore School of Business.
• Participate in campaign planning.
• Work closely with the Dean and senior administrators, as well as key volunteers.
• With the Executive Director for University Development, recruit, select, train and supervise the Director(s) of Development for the Moore School of Business.
• Participate in the formulation of university-wide fundraising policy.
• Maintain familiarity with important issues as they relate to higher education and keep current with developments in institutional advancement through workshops and seminars with peers in the field.
• Teach in demonstrated areas of expertise including development, fundraising, campaigns, etc.
Additional:
A bachelor's degree and six (6) years of successful higher education or related fundraising/development experience; thorough knowledge of principles, procedures and objectives pertaining to grant funding from private sources; thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of planning and conducting large scale fundraising program; ability to establish good working relationships with alumni, students, donors, businesses, and the general public; strongly prefer knowledge of higher education programs, goals and objectives; ability to relate fundraising programs to University goals and objectives.
Compensation for the position is $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with education and experience.
Texas A&M University: Senior Director of Development
Requirements:
The Senior Director of Development is responsible for the design, leadership, and implementation of development programs in support of the major gift fund-raising goals of a unit or units of the Texas A&M Foundation. This position reports jointly to the assistant vice president for development and a unit head.
• Baccalaureate degree; Master's degree preferred;
• Minimum five (5) years of fund-raising experience with demonstrated history of success;
• Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal;
• Capacity to inspire cooperation and participation;
• Experience related to unit is desirable;
• Working knowledge of Windows environment using Microsoft applications; and
• A valid Texas Driver’s License.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts for the unit;
• Oversee an appropriate donor relations program for the unit;
• Serve as the primary contact for personnel regarding fund-raising policies and procedures;
• Hire, train, and manage development staff;
• Provide mentoring and peer leadership to development professionals through individual and group training and professional development experience;
• Serve as senior advisor/consultant to fund-raising leadership employed by the Foundation;
• Participate in the establishment of personal and unit goals in support of the mission and goals of the Foundation; and
• Other special projects and initiatives as requested.

Physical Requirements of the Position:
• Extensive overnight travel required;
• Frequent evening and weekend activity attendance required;
• Physical ability to travel and visit donors in offices and residences;
• Ability to communicate clearly and interact effectively with people.
